Last week saw the arrival of Ellen show’s own Andy Zenor. He seemed to have a great time in Ireland getting a great reception as he toured the country and took part in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin. Will any of our American friends be following suit and making the trip over to Ireland?
Last night in the White House President Barack Obama announced his intention to return to Ireland should he win a second term. You can watch the festivities from An teach bán where President Obama welcomed An Taoiseach Enda Kenny to the White House for his second visit.

Well we were up and running a couple of weeks so felt we should pay a visit to the hub of all things Obama and spin down to MoneyGall, Co. Offaly. For anyone not in the know, it’s an easy place to get to just off the main Dublin to Limerick road. The people there were fantastic and we bumped into Baracks’ (8th) cousin, Henry Healy and met local publican, Ollie Hayes. If MoneyGall is Obama central then Ollie’s bar is headquarters. In here you’ll find a bronze bust of Obama, a cardboard cut-out, lots of Obama paraphernalia and friendly locals.
There’s a great buzz about the village with lots of people makeing the effort for President Obamas’ visit. Houses are being painted, pavements repaired and plans are being made.
We spoke to friendly locals, Pat and Mary, in Bergins newsagent. You can now buy our ‘What’s the craic Barack?’ tshirt with ‘MoneyGall 2011′. Tell them we sent you.
Well we launched the site a week ago without really knowing how it would go. We just want to thank everyone who liked us on facebook and on twitter and especially the first of our customers. We received lots of re-tweets and mentions which we really appreciate. There was even a call from Dave Fanning on Saturday to give a bit of background so thanks Dave and 2FM for helping to get our name out there.
